I've suffered with chron's for 14 years from the age of 16.I've lost countless jobs and my self esteem plummeted. The first 7 years i was on and off prednisone and asacol, and because of the weight gain when i was on the prednisone it caused depression and an eating disorder.I remember my wedding day very well but for all the wrong reasons because 4 days before the big day i had to beg my doctor to put me back on prednisone just to calm the chron's down a bit.I just wanted to get the day over with i was so scared of something going wrong,(if you suffer with chron's you will understand what i mean).A good few years down the line i'd had my 2 children who had missed out on so much because i was always so ill,i finally decided i wanted an illeostomy pouch. After having the operation it was as if someone had given me a new life and i don't regret a single thing.I have a job,i go to the gym everyday and now have 3 fantastic children who i can take anywhere, anytime.I know some people will say that there's no chance of ever having this done but if you have truly suffered with chron's it is worth it.
