Crohn's Disease Help NEW
by: Annette Young

Hello,

Thanks for your post. I am sorry to hear that you are having a really tough time of it. Bloating sadly is a part of this disease and it is tough not only because it is uncomfortable to endure it but it is horrible to have a distended stomach.

Crohn's can affect so many aspects of your life that's the problem. It affects people on a very different level too and it is an erratic disease because it can remain calm for periods of time and then suddenly a flare-up appears out of nowhere. Usually there are triggers though and if you keep a food diary you might discover your own personal trigger.

Hard to digest foods should be avoided. Try to keep food as plain and as easy to digest as possible, and this might mean having soups, pureed foods or mashed foods to help the food pass through the digestive tract ok. If you continue to have diarrhea you must go back to the doctor as it should not be continuous.

I have attached a link for foods that you should avoid:

If you smoke or drink alcohol, you need to stop as these can cause flare-ups. Try to stay as stress free as you can and get as much rest as possible. If the disease starts getting worse, you have to go back to the doctors. Don't ignore the symptoms.

I hope this helps?

Annette
