Visceral hypersensitivity

Hi
my 14 year old daughter had a limited right hemicolectomy April 11 and as she still has severe pain and no other obvious problems has been diagnosed with visceral hypersensitivity of the gut. Treatment was attempted via low doses of amytriptaline but this hasnt helped at all. she has missed months of school and is very very down.

Has anyone else been down this road and what did you do?
