wondering if it sounds like crohns

Everyday I'm in excruciating pain and I can't keep anything in me I eat and it just comes right back out..I also have had mass headaches am very tired and have pain in my chest and have joint pain..I'm going to my first gastro specialist on Tuesday and I hope they can figure out what is going on...I can't deal with this pain anymore its nuts and hurts bad..I'm only 24

Thank you for your posts.

How did you get on at your appointment? I hope by now that you have received diagnosis and will know if it is Crohn's disease or not. You mentioned that Crohn's and colon cancer both run in the family so I understand that it is possible that you may experienced similar problems.

To be diagnosed when you are in the in your early to mid 20s is quite hard because any condition such as Crohn's disease can have such a massive impact on your whole life. The symptoms that you described including joint pain and nausea certainly seem to indicate Crohn's disease and it can take some time for doctors to make a correct diagnosis.

I would be very interested to learn more about your journey towards greater health (I hope) and it may well help others who come to this forum for first-hand information.

Assuming that you are now on treatment that is helping, I would still strongly suggest that you keep a food diary just so that you can monitor any foods which can trigger off a reaction. Your body can change quite readily and so can your reaction to certain food types. For example you may have always been able to have dairy products in your diet but suddenly you could find that dairy acts as a trigger to an aggressive flare-up. Keeping a journal of how you feel and any sudden changes of symptoms will help you to form a pattern of identification should you develop any further problems.

Fingers crossed that you are feeling much better and that life is now looking more normal.

Well I went to my first gi appointment today and they have me scheduled for a colonoscopy plus an upper gi procedure done I have it scheduled for march 21st I really hope it gives some answers..also just found out tonight colon cancer and crohns runs in my family..just want this pain gone already..did said no matter if I want to or not of I'm in a lot of pain I need to go into the er...thank you
